"saying" good night

while aai takes a shower
i shut my laptop,
silence my phone,
shift things from the bed, to the table.

i make the bed,
brush my teeth,
and aai is out of the shower,
and then it's my turn.

after,
i hang my towel out to dry,
pull down the makeshift curtain,
close the window.

then, on my way to the kitchen,
i pick up my lip balm,
drink a sip of water,
put on the lip balm.

i shut the light on my way out,
put the lip balm where it was,
turn off the wifi,
and go to bed.
