symmetry

we have to break symmetry.
we break it when we pierce one side of the nose;
we do it for culture, beauty, ourselves.
we break it when we work one leg more than the other;
we do it because we can't help it.
we break it when one side of the teacup stains from use;
we do it because it's easy.
we break it when we sleep alone, on the same side of the bed;
we do it and cope with loss.
we break it when we grow out of a single cell;
we do it to be born.
we break it when blood that left the heart doesn't find its way back;
we do it in death.
we have to break symmetry.
