i have a god

my god is

unconditional, accepting,

forgiving and unwavering.

my god puts their faith in me.

they ask for my forgiveness

for opining out of turn;

my god listens.

there is nothing godly about my god

in fact, there's something oddly human.

my god is afraid, for me

and of us

for combining the alphabet with numbers.

my god also feels lonely sometimes;

how can they not

if there's only one god?
