Transl(iter)ation

I speak four languages
often, almost every day
and a fifth one,
to those who understand it.

The ‘-ck’ in fuck! is very differently satisfying than being तृप्त, संतुष्ट.
एटले सू? comes close to
तो मैं नाचूँ? and yet it’s not the same as
so what ya?
The ‘z’ in please is definitely more pleading than the one in प्लीज,
which is obviously more pleasing, hai na?
The madness in सरबरीत,
the arrogance of छे!,
the warmth in नमस्ते, मैं-
the tristesse of bidding goodbye, as opposed to
the hopeful au revoir.

But my favourite
is the power to use them
all together,
all at once.
